DESCRIPTION

The report – Trends in European Solar Photovoltaic Markets (2009) – presents trends and recent developments in the solar photovoltaic deployment across the European Union. The report starts off with global trends in the photovoltaic industry with cumulative and annual installed capacities up to 2008, market share and rankings of top countries and forecast for future photovoltaic deployment till 2015. Thereafter, overall trends in European Union are discussed focusing on current installation and production capacities and near to long term outlook of the industry. Strategies and recommendations for researchers, analysts, and in general, is a highlight of this section of the report.

Report further discusses general trends relating to PV technology along with various policy trends prevailing in leading countries. This includes a discussion on feed-in-tariffs and other measures that governments are using for further development and deployment of photovoltaic technology. Report also presents trends in research of this technology and public spending on R&D in various countries. Detailed trends on photovoltaic costs and prices are also presented.

The report then analyses top 15 European photovoltaic markets one by one. Countries covered in this segment includes both developed markets like Germany, Spain, France, etc as well as new emerging markets like Portugal and Czech Republic, among others. For each of these countries provided trends relating to production and installation, key policies, market competition, recent R&D initiatives and future photovoltaic deployment in the market.
